Some frequently asked questions

What time is Little Oaks open?
We are open from 8am until 5pm Monday – Friday

What is the difference between Little Oaks and other preschools?
We are proud to have a semi-structured programme which ensures the children are extended at all times. We frequently reflect on our programme so that we are providing the children with the best possible care and learning experiences.

How can we pay fees?
It is easiest to set up an automatic payment on a fortnightly basis. If Internet banking is not something that you are familiar with you can pay cash or cheque, but automatic banking is the preferred option.

What do we need to provide?
Depending on what sessions your child attends you will need to provide morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. We share fruit at morning and afternoon tea, so an extra piece of fruit per day is appreciated. A change of named clothes is also required as we do like to get messy at preschool.

How will you know what belongs to my child?
It is essential that you name everything that belongs to your child so that staff can ensure that your belongings are safe.

What happens if my child is sick?
It is important that if your child is unwell you keep them at home. Some things mean that your child may be excluded from preschool for a period of time, for example nasty vomiting bugs; but you will be informed of this when it is required. Please phone the preschool when your child will not be attending.

Do we get charged for sick days and public holidays?
Yes you do get charged for sick days and public holidays as you are holding your child’s space.

When do the younger children move into the preschool?
At around the age of 2 1/2 the children are ready for a new adventure, this is when we begin their transition from the Little Acorns room into Oak Leaf room. We work closely with families to ensure that this transition is smooth and fun for the child.
